Jason Abbott is currently in his sixth year of teaching, and has been at Friendswood Junior High for all six years.
After graduating from J. Frank Dobie High School, Mr. Abbott attended the University of Houston. In 2012, Mr. Abbott graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. While at U of H, Mr. Abbott was a member of the Moores School Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Steel Band, and the Spirit of Houston Marching Band.
At FJH, Mr. Abbott conducts the Honors Band, and teaches beginning tuba, euphonium, saxophone and percussion, as well as assists with the Friendswood High School Mighty Mustang Band. For the past 5 years, under Mr. Abbott’s direction, the Honors Band has received UIL sweepstakes ratings, as well as Best in Class at the Gator Music Festival.
In his free time, Mr. Abbott likes spending time with his beautiful wife, Tiffany, and miniature schnauzer, Benny. He also enjoys cooking, bbq’n, playing fantasy football, watching basketball and football, and drinking large amounts of coffee.
